Maps of Sodor
This is the first map of Sodor, published in 1958. Here Walney Island is shown separately from Sodor, whereas in all later maps It is part of the Island of Sodor. Remember when Henry was sent to Vicarstown to be repaired? Look at a map of Walney Island and you’ll find - Vickerstown!
This remarkable map was hand-painted by the Rev W Awdry himself sometime in the late 1960s, with major locations captioned by typewriter. It hangs on the wall at the Cadeby Light Railway's museum in Cadeby, Leicestershire. Click on the map and a full-sized version will open in a new window.
